Problème avec XGL - sous Ubuntu 6.10

Je rencontre un soucis avec XGL (que je dois utiliser pour lancer Beryl) sous Ubuntu 6.10.

J’ai installé les drivers ati suivant la procédure ici: http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/materiel/ati_proprietaire

Sans soucis particulier.
Ensuite j’ai installé XGL et Beryl, fonctionnement nickel. Ensuite au reboot suivant, problème:

En choississant gnome en gestionnaire de fenêtres avant d’ouvrir une session, aucun souci d’accéleration graphique (2d ok, fgl_glgears ok).

Par contre en prenant XGL (ajouté en suivant ceci http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/xgl_gnome, et a été fonctionnel une fois donc)

L’accéleration 3d ne fonctionne pas, en tapant fgl_glxgears j’obtiens:

De plus l’accélération 2d semble désactivée (déplacement lent des fenêtres etc :confused:

J’ai oublié de préciser une chose …

J’utilise les derniers pilotes ATI propriétaires en date. :jap:

J’avais essayer de lancer Beryl (installé avant XGL en fait), visiblement il ne s’activait pas :neutre:

Activer le composite, c’est impossible apparement avec les pilotes ATI proprio. :confused:

Si t’as déja installé des drivers prorio avant celui ci desinstalle pour voir :neutre:

Non, c’est le premier que j’installe de driver.

Mon install Ubuntu est récente (+ / - une semaine) :neutre:

Bon, j’ai tenté de supprimer XGL et de le réinstaller, toujours pareil :confused:

Je vais essayer l’installation d’XGL sous KDE mais bon :neutre: :confused:

Bon, eh bien ça ne fonctionne pas mieux avec kde (même message d’erreur et même symptômes que ce que j’ai détaillé plus haut.) :confused:

Personne n’aurait une idée sur ce qui pourrait poser problème?

Je précise que sans xgl l’accéleration 3d fonctionne parfaitement (pas Beryl, évidemment), mais fgl_glxgears fonctionne, tux racer (enfin anciennement tux racer :smiley: ) aussi…

Avec une ati, je te conseille de faire le choix entre les jeux (drivers proprio) et beryl+aiglx (driver libre).
Aiglx est nettement mieux, vu qu’il est intégré à xorg et il n’y a presque rien à faire pour que beryl fonctionne.

De mon côté, j’attend des driver proprio qui gère composite pour pouvoir utilisé aiglx, mais ça n’a pas l’air d’être prévu dans les prochaines versions :frowning: .

Je ne sais pas si AIGLX fonctionnera avec mon chipset graphique :confused:

Donne nous ton /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Comme dis plus haut, soit tu utilise le driver libre et AIGLX, soit le driver proprio et Xgl. Dans le 2eme cas, tu DOIS desactiver explicitement AIGLX et Composite.
Donne nous aussi le log du serveur X (/var/log/Xorg.1.log et/ou Xorg.93.log)

Tiens, en forçant l’option “Composite” ça fonctionne? :heink:

Avec les drivers libres et AIGLX, oui, sinon au contraire, ca ne marche pas.
