Lire un disque dur "externe" (branché en USB) - Problème de montage...

Bonjour :)

Tout d'abord, je suis sur une Ubuntu. J'ai hérité d'un boîtier pour disque dur, permettant de le brancher comme un disque externe. Le problème, c'est que je n'ai pas partitionné le disque avant de le mettre dans le boitier. J'aimerais maintenant y accéder depuis Linux pour le formater en FAT, afin d'y avoir accès depuis Linux et Windows.

Seulement je ne sais pas comment le monter sur Linux. Il est détecté par le gestionnaire de Périphériques : Aperçu ici et par lsusb :

Mais pas d'icône sur le bureau, rien dans la liste des disques... Je ne sais pas comment monter / formater le disque (je ne sais pas si il apparait dans /dev en fait...). Donc si vous avez des idées... merci d'avance !

Salut,

Lance (ou installe) qtparted (ou gparted?) (équivalent à partition magic), il vera le disque et tu pourras en faire se que tu veux.

Je viens d'installer Gparted, il voit que mon disque dur maître (/dev/sda) et ses trois partitions (Windows, Linux, Swap) :paf:

Gparted existe en live-cd, grave le sur un cd-rw en branchant ton disque avant de booter dessus.

Alors j'ai essayé aussi, le problème c'est qu'il n'arrive pas à me monter du tout le périphérique au démarrage, ce qui fait que le live CD ne se lance pas, même en mode sans échec. Et quand je branche le disque après le démarrage, c'est la même chose que sur le système sur le disque dur...

Je crois que je vais être obligé de formater le disque normalement, Linux ne m'aidera pas à aller plus vite sur ce coup là :neutre:

a la rigueur que trouve tu dans ton /dev ?

tu devrais voir un sdb par exemple puisque c'est une unitee usb il la prend comme du scsi

ensuite vois si tu peut faire un fdisk /dev/sdx (ou x corespond a l'unitee de disque, dans le cas ou tu n'aurais qu'un disue serial ata plus cette unitee usb sa devrais etre logiquement sdb)
