We are looking at a candidate with no or a short experience (0 ? 2 years) in the same type of job.
An ex developer usually makes up good profile.

Background:

Support staff and technical analysts participate in a 24/7 rota, one week at a time as first or second line support and also Sunday check. The same would be expected from this new joiner (when familiar with applications).

Day-to-day Responsibilities:
? Be first line support for London Forex users (Marketers and STIR Traders) and sometimes for SIN, NYK and PAR marketers/traders.
? Be second line for offshore sites (i.e. support the first line support teams in PAR, NYK and SIN etc).
? At the beginning, only be in charge of supporting some of the FX trading systems; later take on support of more systems.
? Involvement with end users, eForex services tea, ..
? Small developments are possible when envisaged as part of the support service.
? System checks
? Application Monitoring
? Configuration, Change, Release management

Candidate Profile:
Bright
First class degree of top university
A candidate with a mathematical or/and IT background (especially Development) is preferred.

Computing Skills Required:
Strong SQL: SQL Server, Oracle
Knowledge of using Windows NT and Windows 2000 / Windows 2003
Aware of existence of used technologies: TCP/IP, TIBRV, MQSeries, CVS and other middleware, C++, Java, C#/.NET etc
Scripting: Windows commands, Java Script, Unix shells?
Awareness of Market Data mechanisms

Language Required:
English fluent
French fluent

Other Requirements:
Good contact
Strong desire to investigate and resolve issues in the short term (workaround / setting up procedure) and longer term (participate to the definition of proper fix)
Genuine interest in supporting system
Interest to work in financial IT and learn business.
Inquisitive mind
Good personal organisation to follow up simultaneously a very large number of support issues
Understand users? need and convert them to IT realisable
